A practical dark UI sequence: #0F172A for the canvas, #1E293B/#334155 for raised surfaces, #F8FAFC for primary text, and #38BDF8 for interactive emphasis.
A dark palette is a system of layered dark surfaces, readable light text, and controlled accents—not simply a black background. Useful dark themes separate canvas, cards, raised controls, borders, and text with enough visual difference to communicate hierarchy.
Start with several dark neutrals that are distinct at normal viewing conditions. Then choose a light text family and one or two accent colors whose saturation does not overpower every other interface element.

The saturated violet, pink, and mint create a deliberately expressive night palette. Use them as accents over the near-black foundation; using all three for large surfaces will reduce hierarchy quickly.
The black/charcoal steps provide obvious surface separation, while #00ADB5 supplies a single cool accent. #EEEEEE works as the main text endpoint without requiring pure white.
